Google Launches Program to Help Small Businesses Become More Visible

     Google is launching a new program to help small businesses become more visible. Google announced a major initiative called "Let's put our cities on the map". This new small business initiative aims to help every city in America to get discovered. The site provide small businesses with step by step directions on creating a google my business listing as well as info on improving search results on google search, maps, and google plus. Googles head of marketing, Soo Young Kim, states "we wanted to make to process of getting online easier for small businesses, and help them find their customers in crucial moments."
     Google's localized "Let's put our cities on the map" sites also give small business owners access to a new tool showing how their companies appear on search and maps. The site also enables them to have their companies verified by Google searches, add photos, location and operation hours, and if necessary securing a website domain name from Google program StartLogic.
